alison mclaughlin One thing about the area of web design and marketing, is that it is changing faster than almost any aspect of any business. That said, what has been done in 2011 will no longer work, or work as well for 2012. Don't fear, AMM is here! I have spent the past month researching new SEO, looking back at past work and have once again completely redone many parts of my business to keep up and help you stay competitive with your business.

January 2012 is dedicated to providing current clients with annual reviews of everything accomplished in 2011 as well as providing suggestions and helping set goals for 2012. Starting February 1, current web customers will see a new form of reporting and work that can be done each month. I am very excited for this change. It is so fulfilling to continue moving forward and helping businesses grow, and hope that everyone likes the new, researched, more efficient and updated systems created.

Web site redesigns are very important for a businesses. As trends grow and change, a site that was once state-of-the-art looking, may become older looking over years. Relax, that is normal. This is the reason why large sites like Facebook continue to change and revamp images and fonts, while keeping the same content. Think of when you are shopping for a product or service online. Everyone has reached a site and thought, wow, are they even still in business? Even the best website will someday become outdated, just like clothing.

In addition to the look, there are many other factors that play into web re-designs. Security features are updated, the site becomes more secure with an update to prevent against spammers or hackers. This is the same concept as programs constantly upgrading on your computer.

Technology updates are another key factor. This can be compared to TVs or cell phones. The top, best, most expensive TVs and cell phones from 5 years ago are now very outdated. Technology of websites is the same - always improving.

The most important reason to upgrade a web site is for search engines. What worked for search engines 2 years ago, doesn't always work today. Google is constantly changing their algorithms to improve user experiences and prevent spammers. Redesigning and updating the site as a whole in the newest technology available may be what your site needs to bring in that next big customer from search engines
